Our Tailgate Detection System provides an added layer of security by detecting and preventing unauthorised access to your facility. It uses advanced sensors to identify tailgating attempts and triggers alerts for fast action. It even checks that each card badge is unique before it adds to the number expected through the door.
How it works
A count line, and a card for every person
The tailgate detector uses a people-counting camera installed on the ceiling on the secure side of the door. A virtual line is set up to detect anyone entering the facility.
Each time a valid card is presented at the access reader, the system records the entry. If more people cross the virtual count line than valid cards are presented, the system recognises the tailgating attempt and triggers an alarm.
When someone tailgates
Alerts can be simple warning lights or the more sophisticated voice over the speakers so everyone knows there is an intruder.
A follow-up list on the DoorGuard24 display lets you click and view the footage (providing your NVR is supported) — on site or at home.
